The Freedom Trail Commission of Oneida County is seeking applications from artistic designers to collaborate on the first phase of an Underground Railroad Walking and Driving Tour. The designer will need to understand the challenges of working in public spaces, as the main responsibility will be to design the signs the FTC will use to commemorate historic abolitionist events throughout the county. Additional responsibilities include: Understanding of sign production and placement Ability to guide the process from design to installation Collaboration in the creation of an accompanying pamphlet Enthusiasm for local history is desirable.
