Creative Brief: Green Zone Project – Canteen

Problem Statement:
Design a visual identity for the Green Zone Project, a newly founded not-for-profit organization initially providing services to U. S veterans living in Herkimer County.

Organization Mission Statement
Our main focus is to provide nutrition such as non-perishable food items to veterans and their families. We will administer a multi-faceted program that will also provide avenues or additional assistance through other local agencies while continually raising community awareness to and advocating for the unmet needs of veterans.

Purpose
The Green Zone Project is dedicated to creating a safe, comfortable, and helpful environment which will act as a focal point for all veterans their families of Herkimer County. The Canteen is going to be one part of the project which will be a food pantry. We purposely want to stay away from the term food pantry because most veterans don’t like to except handouts. Also, we plan in the future to help veterans with issues like unemployment, homelessness, health insurance- health care to name a few. We are not yet a 501(c)3 non profit organization but are planing to file the paperwork in the near future. The logo design will be included in the application and will assist us with the process.

The first pantry is planned to be at the Mohawk American Legion in Mohawk N.Y. It will just be a start up point, not significant to our new logo design. Other sites may be used and added down the road. Our connection between the Compassion Coalition, CNY Food Bank, or the American Legion is only a support role to help us get started and hopefully be successful in our venture.

Usage of logo
The new logo design will be used for printed materials and online applications. It will also be screen printed onto T-shirts and used for promotional items, outdoor signage, and advertising.

Design must work reproduced in one color.
