I had the great pleasure of working with Alison Cowles for one semester at PrattMWP. I was so sad to see her go—but she was ready. As of today, she has many noteworthy projects to share. Alison is seriously multitalented; she can draw, paint, sing, and rock out on the ukulele— there’s no stopping her now. -Cindy

Alison’s Story:

Being the daughter of two artists, illustrator David Cowles, and Roycroft artist Laura Wilder, I’ve always known I was bound to do something artistic. I’ve dabbled in many forms of art, from illustration, to caricature, to oil landscapes. After attending PrattMWP, I’ve had several illustrations published in such publications as The Baltimore Sun and Fast Company Magazine, and sold one of my original paintings to a Saturday Night Live cast member. My most recent works are impressionist oil landscapes mainly focus around water. In addition to painting, I write songs for Sesame Street, and I’m also currently developing an original animated series with my father, David Cowles.
